Advising on matters of the national e-Infrastructure for research in Norway, including topics related to High Performance Computing (HPC), AI/ML, Quatum Computing, research data and ICT in higher education and research. Responsible for the coordination of Sigma2 Advanced User Support (AUS) services and other strategic initiatives.Coordination of Norway's participation in Nordic and European e-infrastructure organisations and projects, such as the Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration (NeIC), LUMI, EuroHPC and Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE). This includes work in several international boards and councils and heavy involvement in strategic work both at organisational level, national level and international level.Appointed ESFRI expert delegate on e-infrastructures for Norway by the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research.

Head of Department for Research ComputingThe Department for Research Computing provide research IT services, offers advice regarding digital solutions in research and provides solutions, services and expertise to university scientists and research communities. The department contributes to the University's strategy for the area of IT in research and represents the University in national and international projects and programs that include e-infrastructure and scientific computing.As department head I am directing and managing a department of nearly 30 people, responsible for all aspects of IT in research at the University of Oslo, including large HPC installations, research storage and data services, associated datacenter operations. Responsible for developing the IT strategy for research, research infrastructure and software acquisitions and the development of new research services (for example services for sensitive research data). Managing the University’s participation in local, national and international eInfrastructure projects. The department is responsible for UiO’s duties in the national eInfrastructure programs coordinated by UNINETT Sigma2 (Notur and Norstore), as well as EU projects such as PRACE and EUDAT. As department head I am chairing or participating in key committees, boards pand working-groups, writing proposals, high-level memos, reports and strategic documents in English and Norwegian.

HPC specialist, work includes development and optimization of scientific parallel computational code, datacenter operations, application software management, development and maintenance of Grid middle-ware, parallel storage solutions, administration of large heterogeneous Linux cluster and SMP systems, development of HPC services and advanced user support.
