All shifts have their stressed time periods and I am therefore used to working in a high-paste environment – also with answering phone calls from doctors and customers with questions and concerns of various types o The main issues at the shifts are of course treatment of acutely occurred pains, infections, coughing and colds, wounds and bruises, but besides that, customers also come to pick up medicine for their chronic diseaseso I have therefore maintained and broadened my knowledge of drugs on the Danish market, despite the natural focus on pain, infections etc on the shiftso It is a prerequisite for me that the customer is sufficiently informed in order to use the medicine and to be in compliance with the treatmento I am an experienced user of Pharmanet Show less

During a number of years I worked with 1) mapping the pollution pressure from urbane releases, 2) characterising the sources to pollution in the urban space, 3) potential recycling of urban water, 4) options for reducing urban releases, and 5) designed measuring campaigns using traditional and passive sampling.Latest I compiled and analysed ecotox data from nine nanomaterials published in hundreds of scientific articles, aiming at deriving safe environmental levels. To assess the reliability of the data, an approach with specific emphasis on evaluation of ecotox data for nanomaterials for regular purposes was developed.During the majority of my university career I have been engaged in environmental risk assessment of chemicals, e.g. pharmaceuticals, nanomaterials as well as traditional pollutants.I also regularly performed peer review of scientific articles and have been member of about 10 PhD thesis assessment committees.TEACHING AND DISSEMINATION On top of my research I have supervised students (through PhD level) in formulating a project, performing experiments, analysing and interpreting data and writing the thesis. Using various didactic methods, my teaching of graduate students focused on environmental and human health risk assessment of chemicals as well as applied environmental analytical chemistry and water pollution. As an integral part of my work I am experienced in presenting results and conclusions at at more than 15 international conferences and have published more than 25 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals, including writing rebuttal letters. Biotic and abiotic degradability is often low. Despite their low hydrophobicity some antimicrobials interact with Aldrich humic acids, thus lowering their free concentrations and enhancing their persistence. Laboratory experiments have shown that antimicrobials in low concentrations inhibit the growth of algae; especially cyanobacteria.Based upon specified exposure scenarios most antimicrobials would upon request require more detailed investigations. The study resulted in the Ph.D. thesis: Environmental Risk Assessment of Antimicrobials (ISBN 87-988069-0-4).
