As chief scientist at SABIC’s I am the interface between our customers and the technology product teams, facilitating the development of plastics that meet the future needs of the healthcare industry. I’ve been doing so since 2013 with a particular focus on pharma & drug delivery and renal care subsegments. This has given me a thorough understanding of the sectors' trends such as connectivity and sustainability and their needs with regard to material performance, data requirements, consistency and reliability. It is pretty rewarding to see how some of our materials are being used to the benefit of patients globally, on a daily base.In other technical roles I have hold in the past 20 years, I have developed plastics for the consumer electronics, lighting and automotive industries including a range of products that supported the transition from traditional lighting to LED by ensuring high optical performance during an extended product lifetime.I have executed continuous improvement projects in production and technology related to LEXAN polycarbonate resins. I hold an engineering degree in Chemical Technology and a PhD degree in Polymer Chemistry from Eindhoven University of Technology. I am a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and a named inventor on 40+ patents and applications.
