As an Analytical Chemist I have worked in target driven lab environments, covering Agrochemicals, Amino Acid Analysis and Pharmaceuticals, for over 30 years working with analytical instrumentation including HPLC, GC-FID and GC-MS. I have experience running, trouble shooting and preventative maintenance of these instruments. I have led small teams and have been involved in weekly, and sometimes daily, meetings to prioritise resources and staff to facilitate sample turnaround and deadlines with timely data entry to meet KPIs.My proudest achievements in the last 10 years are:Training two industrial placement University students over 2 years, giving feedback to their tutors and both achieving top marks in their respective degrees (although they did do most of the work!)Overseeing analytical method transfer of a medical device from USA to UK to Europe. This involved training in the USA, bringing expertise to the UK to train my colleagues, and able to train a European company to achieve method transfer for Brexit compliance.
