Working at CERN's Development and Innovation department (IPT-DI), my role was managing and developing the prototyping workshops at CERN's open innovation lab, IdeaSquare. IdeaSquare's activities focus on solving societal challenges related to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) with the help of CERN's knowledge and technology. This is done in close collaboration with IdeaSquare's partner universities, the CERN EU Project Office, as well as CERN's Knowledge Transfer group.My main tasks at CERN included:- Managing and developing the prototyping workshops at IdeaSquare.- Facilitation of prototyping for CERN personell to aid their experiments.- Coaching of visiting students on how to test and present their ideas by using prototypes.- Supporting visiting hackathons, students and organisations.- Connecting with CERN expertise and designing technical courses to teach FPGA, Raspberry Pi and Arduino.

During my internship I reviewed the inspection programs for topside pressure piping and found out where the program could be optimized.

During my internship I supported the integrity engineers by creating datasets for uploading to a new software. To correctly do this I was introduced to general corrosion mechanisms as well as various corrosion monitoring techniques. I applied my knowledge in programming/ VBA to compile the datasets in an efficient matter. Also I applied my knowledge chemisitry when working on the fluid monitoring program for some of their assets.

During my time in the Norwegian Armed forces I served as second in command for my team. I also served as a driver for a Scania P93 truck. During my service I learned a lot about leadership under extreme conditions and I gained a lot of knowledge on how to build on the strenghts of each individual in a team.
