Hi! My name is Hansini and I'm a Bioengineering major planning a Data Science minor at Northeastern University. Since my introduction to the field, I've been passionate about discovery and innovation in the field of microbiology. The sheer number of mechanisms, pathways, and functions we are still trying to decipher represent untapped knowledge that could lead to more effective treatments, better overall understanding of diseases and causes, and crucially, disease prevention. It's a really exciting field to be a part of, and I'm determined and enthusiastic to contribute to it.At the intersection between the inquisitive need to answer unanswered questions in the lab, as well as my newfound passion for the logical problem-solving of coding, I developed an interest in computational biology, and I hope to be able to make an impact in this field in the future.
