I train neural networks (image classification and object detection), program web api's, deploy them in docker containers, create an Azure environment to run the containers. I usually program in Python: I like the Python programming language for its strong library support.

As the lead project architect I was responsible for the overall IT architecture of a freight sorting and container transport machine used for mail and cargo handling.Apart from the machine itself, the solution consists of- Linux Servers on VMware- Oracle Rack- PC Workstations (Kiosks), barcode printers- 30+ informational displays (Tiny PC + Monitors)- LED Matrix Displays- Network design and topology- VPN solutions for remote support- IP camera's for process monitoring, remote support and security- Handheld devices (rugged android phones and tablets)- XML over MQ connectivity to and from Warehouse Management Systems By cooperating with numerous specialists, and being able to work with both technical and non-technical people, I was able to make this project a succes.

As a member of the Pro-Watch infrastructure team I - I improved a web application leveraging SQLite to combine data from multiple databases before presenting it on the web page- Implemented Kerberos authentication for client/server connectivity- Implemented Pro-Watch on the Citrix platform leveraging registry virtualization (see http://hanskappert.blogspot.nl)- Designed and implemented central monitoring of execution of SQL jobs. - worked on implementing DR.

Through CGI's preferred suppliership, NS has first hired me to join a project team as a senior software developer. After the project, I joined the Application Maintenance team (for Microsoft applications) where I participated in a couple of other projects. Because of my broad knowlegde of the customer's application landscape I was assigned application architect at the start of 2009.My day to day work can be summarized as - Advising people on how countles IT issues. - designing Software Systems using Enterprise Architect. - Validating RFC's against the Architecting Principles and Baseline Architecture- Collaborating with Information Analists, Testers, Customers.- Coaching collegues- Keeping up-to-date with new technologies and determining if and how I can use them in my projects. - Problem analysis.

Using Progress 6 through 9 I designed and developed numerous GUI programs, Web programs, code generators, and other development tools. I was lead developer, had close contact with my customers, helped them by giving courses, and during acceptance testing.
