Experienced chemist working in the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry with a focus on oligonucleotide synthesis and manufacturing. Currently working as Director within the CMC department at ProQR Therapeutics and heading up the Drug Substance Manufacturing and Chemistry team. In this role I'm responsible for and lead all activities related to oligonucleotide drug substance GMP manufacturing and chemistry at ProQR for preclinical, early phase and late phase development (including process validation). This involves managing the in-house chemistry and manufacturing facilities, Contract Manufacturing Organizations for the production of oligonucleotide drug substance batches under cGMP, process development and process transfer activities. Moreover, I provide scientific and technical support as subject matter expert, review GMP documentation, process descriptions, and batch records, and oversee process development activities (both upstream and downstream). I also author regulatory sections (IND, IMPD, CTA), author other regulatory documents (briefing documents, type C meetings) and assist in response writing to questions from regulatory authorities.I'm highly motivated, a strong analytical thinker, team player, quick-learner, responsible, reliable and experienced in working in an international and interdisciplinary team.
