Hanson Li is a Co-founder & Managing Director of Huatone China Strategic Investment Solutions, Inc., a China-based business strategy consultancy providing strategy formulation, business development & capital advisory services to growth-oriented startups & mid-market companies. In addition to leading the firm's overall BD & intl practices, he focuses particularly on healthcare services, insurance and the high-tech sectors across East & Southeast Asia, North America, Western & Central Europe and the Middle East. Prior to Huatone, he was a core executive at iKang Healthcare Group (formerly NASDAQ: KANG), a leading private healthcare management company in China, where his portfolio covered strategic planning, BD, investor relations & legal matters. In 2009, he founded China Commercial Health Insurance Forum (CCHIF), China's first independent global forum dedicated to private insurance development in China. Hanson has also served as Director of Strategy at the Emerging Markets Group of Lenovo (0992.HK), overseeing strategic planning, cascading & review for seven global regions covering 150+ countries; as an investment banker in NYC; and in various research & consulting positions in China & the US, for clients including the World Bank Institute, UNICEF, Massachusetts State legislature & prominent Chinese thinktanks. Hanson is a Council Member of the Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA); Council Scholar at Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG), and Research Fellow at the ChangCe Thinktank, where his research focuses on the governance aspects of globalization. He currently teaches healthcare investment at HKU SPACE, and is a Clinical Professor at Northwest Normal University. He is also a published author, and frequently speaks at international conferences both at home and abroad. Hanson holds a JD from Boston University School of Law, with a focus on corporate law and legislation; a SM in political economy from MIT; and a BA in foreign affairs (summa cum laude equivalent) from China's Peking University.
