I make long and short documentaries and scientific films. As part of the Carbid Project, I also supervise young filmmakers producing their first documentary.In 1988, I became a cofounder of RQB films, a team producing programmes on cultural and social subjects for TV and other media. In 1995 my film Beugels (“Braces”) won a Sony Award and at the 1996 Dutch Film Festival I received the Edward Muybridge Award for Kinderen met een Schisis (“Children With a Cleft Palate”). In 1997 I was nominated for the Princes’ Award, a European prize for the best multimedia project about our environment.Born in 1951, I graduated with honours from the Amsterdam Film Academy. Since then I have made hundreds of films and television programmes, scientific and corporate productions. At first these were mainly on social topics, such as prisoners, step-families and the dilemma facing “bystanders” in child-abuse cases. Tanny, a film about child abuse, won a first prize at the Oberhausen Festival. Lasater I worked on many children’s programmes.
