I am an educated and experienced communications consultant. Since 1990 I've been working in various public sector organisations as well as in communications consultancy firms. I love my profession and have a clear vision on communications as an important means to create sensemaking, and to build lasting commitment in communities, which can be small and personal or big and professional.As an early adopter and 'out of the box' thinker I share my experience and knowledge as much as possible with others. Colleagues and professionals think of me as visionary and inspiring. I actively contribute to the team spirit and team development, e.g. through coaching of colleagues. Through membership of the EACD I connect with Comms/PR practitioners in the world. For two seasons I was jury member of the European Communication Award in Berlin. In February-March 2024 I was 'practitioner in residence' at Radboud University in the master course 'Crisis Communications and Reputation Management'.My work ambitions are in short:1. Sharing knowledge (#workingoutloud),2. Helping others to reach their goals,3. Creating time and space for (professional) innovation as well as (gut-feeling) experiments.My professional experience in sound bites: consulting, interactive policy development, communications strategy, (re-)branding, brand values & visual identity, professionalising of the communications profession. Finding clear and creative solutions for abstract and difficult matters.I love Dutch 20th century poetry and fiction of all cultures. My non-fiction topics are biographies, digitalisation, knowledge management and artificial intelligence. Favourite magazines are WIRED, Monocle & Harvard Business Review. I follow inspiring people and 'interest groups' of all sorts through LinkedIn, X and Instagram. I am a member of the Digitale Fitheid Community in The Netherlands.
