My role is Portfolio Manager for the Web Informatics and Mapping (WIM) team [ https://wim.usgs.gov ]. I'm responsible for coordinating the team's resources in order to accomplish the dozen+ active projects at any given time. I also act as the primary point of contact for outside partners for active and potential projects.

● Defined the position as the inaugural Configuration Manager for the 500-employee central University IT organization.● Coordinated and facilitated use of the configuration management database; developed policies, processes, and tools to support the organization's needs for Configuration Management, including asset tracking and asset relationships.● Architected, developed, and facilitated implementation of enterprise IT business processes for operations. Performance evaluation lauded my collaborative approach and effectiveness in this area.● Scheduled and approved service changes as backup Change Manager.● Coordinated response to service outages as backup Incident Manager.● Worked with our Continuity of Operations team to develop Disaster Recovery Plans for DoIT Services.

● Established reliability in the organization's configuration management database, which demonstrated the organizational need for rigorous Configuration Management policies and procedures. This resulted in the creation of a full-time consultant-level position for a Configuration Manager.● Assisted in migration of our Incident Management/Service Desk ticket system to a new product, on time and budget.● Functioned as the backup Incident Manager and Change Manager.

● Performed system administration on UNIX systems. Wrote and maintained documentation for 24x7 support staff use.● Prepared metrics for operational processes, helped identify incident trends and incident response gaps.

● Joined the 10 employee start-up just after the release of their first and flagship title Parallel Kingdom, a mobile, location-based, cross-platform (iOS and Android) massive multiplayer game.● As the first dedicated customer support employee, acted as the public face of the company for most customers. Ensured customer support requests were resolved, helped the team identify and handle game exploiters and cheaters, and helped define player culture in the new game.● Worked closely with the game design team on new mechanics and features for the rapidly growing game.● Helped design and implement customer support procedures as the company expanded. Helped establish a culture of productivity and camaraderie that remains with the now 40 employee company today.

●Received Honorable Discharge as a Sergeant (E-5); held Security Clearance “Secret.”● Awarded an impact Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal for professional achievement, and mission dedication.● Supervised and was held accountable for daily unit actives as unit supervisor of a 20 Marine team responsible for the maintenance of aviation equipment valued at $250 million.● Responsible for periodic review of direct reports. Recommended promotions and certifications based on performance.● As Crew Chief, was the primary enlisted ‘owner’ of a $25 million dollar aircraft. Logged 1016 Flight-hours, including 87 combat flight hours in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Awarded Combat Aircrew Wings, and 5 Air Medals for exceptional performance. Crew Chief duties: authorize the aircraft safe for flight, ensure the safety and security of passengers and cargo in-flight, respond to in-flight emergencies, test the integrity of systems, troubleshoot problems on the ground and in-flight, perform and supervise maintenance of the aircraft, and understand and execute all mission capabilities of the helicopter and crew.
