Hantah, a Malaysian filmmaker, has produced numerous international documentaries, reality TV programs, entertainment programs, commercials and music videos.He began his filmmaking and producing career in TV3 Malaysia. Today, with more than25 years of experience in local and international broadcast production, his works have won multiple international awards, for instance New York Festivals, Omni Awards,Asia Television Awards, Asia Image Apollo Awards and etc.Hantah’s major credit includes his work with Endemol, an international formatted show company for the reality show such as “Deal or No Deal” Malaysia and “Fear Factor”. He was appointed as the Head of Production for Fear Factor Malaysia, India and Indonesia.Hantah’s first international documentary, entitled“The Joss Stick Maker” was broadcasted in Discover Asia channel in 2009 and was nominated as the Best Documentary in ATA (Asian Television Awards) 2010. His master piece was also nominated as the top 5 Best Documentary in the category of Culture / Art in Malaysia Documentary Festival in the same year.To enhance his skills in producing international documentary, Hantah attended a documentary campus called "Crossing Borders" in 2011, which was organised by the EDN (European Documentary Network). He was one of the 15 participants selected from all over Europe and Asia.In 2012, following his success with "The Joss Stick Maker", Hantah once again made his fame by directing another international documentary entitled "Black Gold" for Discovery Asia. This piece of work has won 2 Finalist Certificates in 2013 New York Festivals International TV & Film Awards under the categories of “Direction” as well as “Nature & Wildlife”. Recently, “Black Gold” was nominated in Asia Image Apollo Awards 2013 under the category of “Directing - Short Form”. To add on the list, “Swimming with Dragons” another documentary by Hantah, is currently in production for international broadcaster “Al-Jazeera”.
