Good strategy goes much beyond dreaming. Planting an aspirational flag, far away,on the horizon, is great, but the real starting point is action. Action that moves theorganization forward, and that addresses the fundamental strategic roadblocks.Questions I ask are: ‘Why are we not where we want to be?’ ‘What is the systemof processes, incentives and behaviours that keeps the current situation stable?’‘Where and how can the cycle be broken, so that change occurs, and the new,desired situation becomes stable and sustainable?’Keeping a holistic view on the strategic progress is fundamental for navigation.Keeping a strategic report concise is a challenge of its own. Therefore, I advocatea management system with short feedback cycles, with cascaded goals, and withtrusted and empowered owners of each goal.I am committed to establishing a learning culture, where trial-and-error in shortcycles is encouraged and feels safe. Where a plus one asks: ‘What do you need tosucceed?’ and where potential issues as well as good ideas stream upwards quickly.That means that at each level, including C-level, the organization must be willing tochange the sails with the wind.People describe me as energetic, thorough, and as a generalist: In previous engagements I have worked on all stages of transformation, equally enthusiastically. I hope to apply my skill-set as astrategy expert in many project to come!In my free time I am an theatrical improviser, where I can exercise my passion for storytelling, wit, and singing. I founded and directed a group, KaasWol, coming second in the Dutch nationals (2018), and won the Flemish nationals (2017) with Improv Musical troupe Commotie.
