As a software architect and software development coach I’ve had the pleasure of working for many different kinds of organisations from small start-ups with fresh new ideas to solid multinationals.As a software development coach I try to create an atmosphere in which the people I coach get inspired and enthusiastic. Only then do I start talking about how to improve people’s skills. In addition to intense hands-on sessions, I also give workshops on a range of topics such as Domain Driven Design, C#, Software Architecture and Software Development.My first 10 years of experience in developing and designing software have mostly been spent working with Microsoft based technologies. The last 8 years I’ve been working in far more mixed environments that have included quite some Javascript based technologies including Angular (Js and 2+), Node etc. Language such as Python and F# have popped up during my more recent years of work too.Since 2010 I’ve been heavily involved in the development and architecture of quite a few web based systems with technology stacks based on ASP.NET MVC (3, 4 and 5). The last three years I’ve had the opportunity to do some very interesting work with AngularJS/ Angular/ Node as well (combined with a Web API back-end) moving more into the Net Core (1.x and 2.x) territory.I’ve been using C# and the .NET framework since it came out (in Beta), late 2000. I’ve spent the better half of the last 10 years not just developing but also teaching C# to junior, midcareer and senior employees of my clients.I personally believe that as a software architect I need to reap the benefits but also most certainly must feel the pain of the architectures I create. That is why I’m almost always involved in at least first couple of development iterations. In reality I tend to stay involved for a much longer time.My philosophy as a freelance is that you should always create an added value for your clients so as to be more than just an extra pair of hands.
