Provide advanced cardiac life support courses as per Heart and stroke foundation Canada guidelines

Responsible for providing medical care to each patient undergoing surgery at all stages. This includes providing the medical evaluation of the patient preoperatively, intraoperatively, and providing pain control and support of vital functions postoperatively.Prescription of drug therapies to patients suffering from acute, chronic, and cancer pain.During childbirth, providing pain relief with epidural and spinal blocks for the mother.The anesthesiologist is also present during cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, radioimagings, endoscopies, IVF and ECT.In critical care and trauma patients, the anesthesiologist makes immediate diagnosis while supporting respiratory and cardiovascular functions and providing pain control.Participation in research, and clinical studies as well as medical education programs and legislative activities.

Main responsibilitiesa) General anesthesia, spinal anesthesia and lumbar epidural analgesia mostly for all cases of plastic, orthopedic, general surgery, neurosurgery, O&G, ENT and eye surgery. b)Acute Pain Service; e.g.; painless labor using lumbar epidural analgesia, caudal analgesia for infraumbilical surgeries in pediatrics, and postoperative analgesic plans including CSE, combined general-epidural anesthesia, PCA, and narcotics. c) Intensive care skills including mechanical ventilation, CPR, CVL insertion, chest tube insertion, bronchoscope, BAL, and follow up of postoperative cases.d) Management of a wide variety of critical patients from all medical and surgical subspecialties e) Conducting morning rounds and reviewing management plan with other members of the teamf) Receiving new admissions after working hours including full assessment and managementg) Active involvement in CME activities
