Study on Dynamic Modelling of High-dimensional Correlated Systems in Reduced Dimensions Using Variational Autoencoders- Completed the project design by communicating with an advisor to prepare the research proposal.- Explored the application of Variational Autoencoder (VAE) in model order reduction for high-dimensional correlated systems, focusing on sequential and simultaneous learning VAE for Regression (VAER) models.- Found that sequential VAER model gradually reduces VAE loss and stabilizes regression loss, while simultaneous VAER model exhibits fluctuating total loss and varying performance in data reconstruction and regression prediction.- Identified challenges in handling complex data relationships and noise, suggesting future research directions to improve model robustness and generalization to unseen data.

Study on Modelling of Multivariable Control System (VDG & CSTR)- Structured literature review and analysis regarding process control and system. - Investigated the pressure and level control of a vacuum degasser rig (VDG) in multiple variable coupling systems and analysed the observed data to draw potential impacts in an industrial setting. - Set a mathematical model for complex control systems (CSTR) by MATLAB (Simulink). - Optimised the PID control according to various disturbing factors and the stability was tested.

Study on Optimization of Multi-Level Nano-fibre Electrodes and Application of Electrochemical Catalysis- Completed the experiment design by communicating with the fellow apprentice and advisor to prepare for the opening presentation;- Assisted in synthesising SiO2@TiO2/HDA core-shell spheres, SiO2@aTiO2 yolk-shell spheres and mesoporous cTiO2 hollow spheres by using FESEM and TEM characterisations to adopt the magnesium ions to provide more storage sites for sodium (Na) and improve the energy density of SICs devices;- Synthesised the MOF and MOF@TiO2 nano-spheres by using the water bath method to carry out further tests of the electrochemical performance for lithium storage;- Concluded that through researching the modification of titanate-based materials by large radius ions, the spacing of layers has been expanded, and transport properties, as well as dynamic properties of sodium (Na), get improved to prepare the SICs battery-type electrode materials with high ratio discharge property.

Study on the Ortho-Selective Monohalogenation of P-Hydroxy-Acetophenone- Assisted in the preparation and characterisation of p-Hydroxy acetophenone and N-Bromo succinimide by adopting certain basic experimental operations in organic chemistry;- Searched for eco-friendly gram-scale synthesis of 3-Bromo-4-hydroxy-[3,5-C2]-acetophenone by referring to the article in the journal Chemistry Communication;- Designed the experiment in the bromine reaction of 4-hydroxy acetophenone to synthesize and characterize samples, and analysed the bromine reaction condition of p-hydroxy-acetophenone during the synthesis of drug molecular precursors to draw a conclusion;- Explored the conditions of Nucleophilic Aromatic Substitution reaction, and concluded that it is difficult to control the conditions of Electrophilic Aromatic Substitution with an electron donating group, which needs to be improved in further experiments.
