Hao has more than 13 years of cyber threat management experience including attack and penetration testing, vulnerability management, threat hunting, incident response, and bug bounty program management. He is currently leading the threat emulation team in PayPal and responsible for conducing attack and penetration testing including cloud security, red team, purple team, internal / external on-prem infrastructure, and application / API assessments for all PayPal’s business units. He is focused on delivering exceptional results, taking a multidisciplinary approach while leveraging his deep cybersecurity, team leadership, and project management experience. His current role requires him to work closely with other cross-functional teams including security engineering, threat management, product development, site reliability engineering, legal, risk, and compliance to identify the root causes of repeatable security issues, develop appropriate solutions, and provide insights for leadership team to define / enhance security strategies, policies, and procedures.
