He broke down siloes in water management within County government and across jurisdictions, laying the foundation for a collaborative, integrated approach to water.As the former Deputy Director at Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department, he led the execution of an approximately $7.5B multi-year infrastructure program in Miami-Dade County. He is a champion of the “One Water” concept, advocating for water governance across watersheds and a collaborative regulatory framework to prioritize water-related investments within the region for water infrastructure.Mr. Anand spearheaded the development of the City Water Resilience Framework with the Rockefeller Foundation and 100 Resilient Cities, resulting in the selection of the Greater Miami and the Beaches region as one of only five areas from around the globe to participate in creating a blueprint for resilient urban water systems.He is the founder of the One Water Academy with the vision to “Operationalize Resilience”. He also spearheaded the Future of Water Summit in 2022. Mr. Anand has received numerous awards and accolades for his accomplishments, including “Engineer of The Year” by the Florida Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers and as the One Water Professional of the Year by the Florida Water Environment Association. He is a Leadership Florida Cornerstone 38 Fellow and is currently pursuing his PhD at the University of Miami.Originally from Tanzania, Mr. Anand is a registered professional engineer in the State of Florida and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
