I Design, build and maintain all aspects of deliverables that involve data. This includes ETL and pipeline architecture to collect data from disparate sources, analysis and developing insights, reporting infrastructure. This can be as basic as campaign effectiveness tracking or survey analysis and processing or as advanced as logistic regression and topical modeling. As Metia serves a wide range of clients and technology, this can expand across many different systems and we communicate regularly with a wide variety of stakeholders. In addition to writing and maintaining my own code, I manage and train two other people and coordinate with project managers to scope out new projects. I write proposals and work directly with senior stakeholders to design infrastructure that empowers them to use data.

At Tahzoo I design and build tools that span the entire stack of data science. I test hypothesis, program learning models, build dashboards and present to stakeholders and clients. We are a full service, digital experience management agency and our data driven methodologies is what distinguishes us from our competitors. My job is to extract, analyze, store, compile and visualize that data. My specific tasks include, but are not exclusive to:- Coding in Python or R the models and tools used in our projects- Visualizing in D3.js, Power BI, PowerPoint or any other product that the client might use.- Develop, test and pitch all of the data-driven products in Tahzoo's Strategy team- Operate as a Product Manager for Data Science products that involve other parts of the company- Plan and oversee (in collaboration with colleagues) the implementation of Tahzoo's Insight and Innovation data storage, management, and transformation methodologies

Managing my time between multiple projects in a full service research firm, I managed all aspects of backend data deliverables locally and offshore. Online survey research has a lot of moving parts and clients need all of these parts to be functioning perfectly. My job is to ensure that the end deliverable matches client expectations. What I enjoyed most about this position was the variety of challenges. Clients, vendors and outsourced teams all use different platforms and methods. R, Python, SPSS syntax, SQL and VBA are all languages that I used every day. I especially enjoyed working with our database engineers to develop and implement new systems that reduce lead-time and allow people to focus on the more valuable tasks. Every day was something new.

A highly technical position, Field Researchers need to be eager to learn quickly and transition between tasks in order to deliver quality audience measurement. What I enjoyed most about this position was the wide range of different skills that would be called into use every day including survey methodology/fault analysis, languages/communication, and soldering/circuitry. I worked with many different departments on special projects across the entire spectrum of Nielsen products. I enjoyed developing and implementing new applications that reduce redundancy as well as improve quality in the field.• Established and maintained long-term relationships with randomly selected panel members.• Responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting data/equipment and taking necessary corrective action to collect and retrieve accurate audience data.• Responsible for accurately collecting and reporting panel demographics and audience information using Nielsen proprietary software.• Use negotiation skills to gain and maintain cooperation of panel members, solicit additional participation in Nielsen samples, such as PC measurement, portable video, and others.

Starting with no previous understanding of Mandarin or Chinese culture, I designed and executed four auditorium-sized classes every day for a year. Each class had to be fun, interesting and relevant to the coursework covered by the school. During the year I became quite comfortable with Mandarin. Although not quite fluent, I feel comfortable using Mandarin in work settings and would be eager to have the opportunity to improve.

I didn't know a single word of Spanish when I arrived in in Gualaceo. With few resources available to us another professor and I designed and implemented the school's very first English classes. This was my first attempt at teaching English. When the year was over, over a hundred grade school students were speaking basic English and I was speaking Spanish at an academic level. I stayed in Ecuador for two years. There I enrolled (not for credit) in the department of philosophy and natural sciences at Universidad Estatal de Cuenca. It was a life-changing experience.
