I offer a rare combination of FMCG marketing career with certified expertise in wine and experience of starting up my own business in the world of wine.After 25 years in consumer marketing and business strategy at Nestlé, I gained the WSET Diploma in Wines and Spirits in 2010 and set up my own wine consultancy while still in Switzerland: Fitting Wines. I created a new kind of personal wine shopper service targeting expat wine drinkers who were short on knowledge and time, but not on disposable income. I developed a unique taste profiling tool, organised regular wine tastings and also presented weekly wine shows on radio.Now in the UK, I have reconfigured Fitting Wines to provide consulting services in the retail and hospitality sectors. As an expert in Swiss wine, I have assumed the role of Swiss wine ambassador in the UK and manage a range of marketing and promotional initiatives. These include curating fine wine experiences, organising tastings for trade professionals, targeting increased availability, supporting the wine media and creating educational resources. In my time at Nestlé I managed well-known international brands such as Nescafé, Maggi and Friskies (Purina). I held senior operational and strategic marketing positions in the UK and US markets as well as the global head office in Switzerland. I led brand innovation and communication programmes, working with R&D and a variety of creative agencies, and supported the sales teams in dealing with retailers. My overall approach is collaborative and empowering, encouraging resourcefulness and creativity in finding solutions. I believe that active listening and finding common denominators are the basis for reaching good solutions and that building rapport with people at all levels is one of the keys to achieving success.
