Chief Engineer and Business Development Director responsible for managing key accounts, business development, overall strategic direction and P/L for SNC-Lavalin’s Clean Power Sector across the United States. Led a team of senior level industry specialists who possessed a deep understanding of Power, Telecommunications and other Utility industries. Key responsibilities included managing the production of expressions of interest, pre-qualifications, proposals, as well as performing business development function to identify and develop new business opportunities for the company. Further, these responsibilities extended to leadership of team performance regarding safety, quality, profit and loss and technical expertise to ensure customer satisfaction.Provided commercial leadership on all bid and contract elements and assembled support teams required to manage the customer workload. Also managed the development of high value proposals and built key customer relationships with the most senior levels of the existing and potential clients. Overall responsibility for management of each contract once awarded including assignment of technically qualified resources and successful prosecution of the work. Worked closely with other senior members of the organization to drive repeat customer business on selected accounts.

Member of NB+C Engineering Services leadership team responsible for day-to-day operation of some of the staff in the engineering division that handled Telecom projects. Key responsibilities were business development, strategic planning, proposal development, program management, project execution, resource management, QA/QC and hiring new employees.Managed, directed and supervised the work efforts of the assigned staff. Provided direction to staff to ensure that all tasks are completed within schedule, budget and in accordance with engineering design and field standards. Performed Quality Control review on the work performed by others for accuracy and completeness. Reviewed, approved and supervised preparation of reports, engineering designs, specifications, cost estimates, permits, and other contract documents. When required professionally, endorsed (signed and/or sealed) reports, designs and other contract documents.Prepared Proposals, Expressions of Interest, and Contracts. Provided project management assistance and served as the primary client contact on some key projects. Approved all project schedules, budgets and QC/QA plans. Overseen development of more complex engineering designs. Attended client/public meetings to present information pertinent to the projects and enhanced the image of the company with existing clients to assist in the development of additional sales opportunities. Developed new business opportunities with new clients.

Managed a team of engineers and designers specialized in Power, Telecom and other Utility Sector projects. One of the foremost members and key personnel of the company's satellite office team. Partially responsible for expanding the company’s presence as well as new business development in the East Coast region. Program Lead responsible for the monthly financial reporting for all PECO and PPL projects.

Managed more than two dozen projects and the technical lead for few other projects. Developed proposals, change orders, project budget and schedules, reviewed job slips, invoices, weekly reports, project forecasts and cost estimates. Client communications, project status meetings, prepared meeting minutes, work plan development, allocated resources and coordinated with sub-consultants and other project stake holders. Provided oversight during design development and performed independent review of work performed by others.

Performed computer assisted drafting of the areas surveyed and engineering primarily related to the design and mapping of underground infrastructure and utilities. Developed several composite utility base drawings, underground infrastructure designs using Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) guidelines. Attended meetings with various utility companies, transportation departments and municipalities to review drawings and design procedures prior to construction. Reviewed academic classroom lectures that were captured by my team and made them available for students to view on university’s ‘Blackboard Learn’ on internet. Blackboard Learn is a web-based Learning Management System (LMS) operated and maintained by Illinois Institute of Technology’s Office of Technology Services (OTS).OTS supports Illinois Tech’s primary technology systems, including administrative systems, myIIT, Banner, and the network and telephone infrastructures. OTS departments include Enterprise Systems (project management, database, and programming services), Technology Infrastructure, and User & Technical Services (technology support, desktop/laptop computer imaging, PC labs, classroom technologies, and printing and software licensing).
