My position is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), my primary role is to lead and manage the Engineering services of Council in undertaking works on behalf of the Council and others. As part of the Executive Management team, I am responsible to develop and implement the strategic priorities of the Flinders Shire Council. Duties (not limited to) include:• Report directly to the Director of Engineering.• I am accountable for the management & delivery of all Council engineering works, including strategic planning & asset management, across a large urban & rural environment.• I have overseen all phases of the construction projects and ensuring that the projects are delivered within the timeframe and in the allocated budget.• I have implemented OH&S, Environmental and Cultural systems and practices, according to the current legislation.• I have prepared Traffic Management Plans for all construction and maintenance projects.• I have prepared Project Management, Safety and Environmental plans for all construction and maintenance projects.• I have prepared and updated project schedules and forecasts using MS Project.• I have liaised with Government Departments such as Main Roads, Queensland Reconstruction Authority, Department of Infrastructure, and Planning to ensure that their needs and requirements are recognised and addressed.• I have represented Council in all Northwest Regional Road Group meetings.• I have taken a proactive role in the day to day activities of council Works department.• I have supported the Works department in ensuring safe, effective and economical use of the plant, labour and materials.• I have fostered goodwill and cooperation between Council and residents, suppliers, contractors, employees, department and agencies.• Developed improved methods, to innovate and to seek excellence for the Works division.• Identifying the community needs and Council priorities and submitting funding applications to meet the needs and preferences.

• I was accountable for project day to day operations• Contractor management and budget control• Undertake on-site pressure testing during the commissioning stage• Monitored performance of the project via the SCADA system• Inspected construction site to ensure the quality and safety of workers.• I have ensured that all Council policies, initiatives and practices to total quality management, quality assurance and innovation are met in the work environment.• Developed and maintain a data entry system for as constructed information• I have ensured that work is performed as per requirements of the occupational health and safety policy, procedures and legislation.

• I have trained to use Australian design Standards and Asset management procedures, on Water retaining structures, and other infrastructure elements.• I have visited water treatment plants and sewage pumping stations to assist the field staff.• This role has given me opportunities and exposure to apply academic learning to the workplace environment.• I have liaised with senior officers of the section on technical matters.• I have prepared reports, analysis and research on relevant issues as directed.• I have participated in project teams to achieve work outcomes.• I have collected and presented Asset Management information, as required by the Asset Management Group. Including, but not limited to Project Completion Statements, Operating Manuals, and other relevant data for a particular asset.• Prepared Asset Renewal Program

Part-time role while pursuing university studiesProviding friendly and prompt customer service.Assist in the supervision of the daily operations of the service station, including point of sale.Undertaking the daily reconciliation of takings with registered sales.
