An engineer by training, I am a generalist problem-solver at heart, with more than a decade of rich and varied experience in sustainability and social impact. I have worked on challenges across clean energy, energy access, water use in agriculture & industry, food-security and community-based sustainability transitions, circular economy and more. I am passionate about science & technology for social benefit, and keenly interested in innovation, human-centred design and social entrepreneurship.I have been lucky to work with some remarkable people, on ground-breaking projects recognised globally for innovation and impact, including twice by National Instruments, Intersolar AWARD 2016, the UNFCCC's Momentum for Change Award 2017, the German Energy Agency's Start-up Energy Transition Award 2017, the Elsevier Renewable Energy Challenge 2017, the UN DESA 2017 US$1 million Energy Grant, and more.I cofounded FluxGen, a sustainable technologies company in Bangalore. I later worked with MicroEnergy International (Germany) on the concept of swarm electrification, and further headed research & product development at Solshare, an international joint-venture social enterprise creating clean energy marketplaces in rural off-grid areas of Bangladesh. Following this, I researched systems issues at Public Affairs Centre, a 25-year old nonprofit think tank focused on the SDGs in the Indian context.Through Solvesustain, a recently founded company, I work with start-ups, non-profits, corporates and academia on a range of challenges, applying collaborative and multi-stakeholder ‘network problem-solving’ approaches to address the nexus challenges of sustainable development.

Senior LecturerPes School Of Engineering Aug 2010 - Jul 2011I taught interesting courses in engineering like computer networking, information theory and digital signal processing. I was lucky to have a great interaction with many talented and curious students. I especially enjoyed teaching advanced math and physics to a few gifted youngsters. The best questions I got (and still occasionally think about when I have an idle moment) were: "How does a light-bulb work?" and "How did Schrodinger come up with Schrodinger's equation"??!!
