Worked as a mechanical design intern to help design, build, and test an antitheft smart post box for secure parcel delivery. The primary goal was to employ innovative thinking and technical proficiency to build durable and hard-working prototypes that would boost the company's reputation while being tested and released for manufacturing when they met or exceeded product quality and safety standards. Key Accomplishments:• Designed and developed a concept for a smart parcel box with anti-theft features, including secure locking mechanisms and motion sensors.• Developed an anti-theft feature for the smart parcel box using kinematics of motion.• Initiated, executed design control activities together with other internal teams to host brainstorms and other ideation activities.• Utilised SolidWorks to create 3D models and assemblies of the parcel box, focusing on ergonomics, durability, and cost-effective manufacturing.• Performed heavy CAD workload throughout the development cycle to flesh out creative yet feasible ideas and to execute the final design from conception to manufacturing. • Collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to refine the product based on user feedback and prototype testing.• Created technical drawings and BOMs (Bill of Materials) for manufacturing.• Developed collaborative relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on the mechanical design and development.• Generated documentation including design specifications, custom part drawings, assembly drawings, engineering Bill of Materials, common feature drawing and process flows.
