• Procurement logistics and inventory management includes timely procurement of raw materials & to maintain the minimum reorder quantities, vendor negotiations includes understanding the raw material requirement for production activities based on the export/ local sales plan, seasonal raw materials are procured and stocked at the best prices, timely auditing of the inventory, calling up of suppliers, negotiations and finalising of suppliers for long and short term requirements. ware housing the raw materials within the facility.• Production logistics includes making the materials available to the production houses at various locations (Physical material movements) keeping into consideration the cost of material movements and ensuring zero delay in process time.• Co ordination activities with purchase department like releasing of purchase orders, follow up with vendors for material supplies, payment follow ups for the raw materials supplied and to distribute the materials from the centralized procurement system to the distributed production facilities• 3rd party logistics mainly Transportation outsourcing for raw material movements internally within the facilities and finished goods to customers for international and domestic sales. For international distribution fixing of freight forwarders, clearing agents etc are also taken care with co ordination with the export department. Domestic sales and after sales activities is taken care in coordination with the marketing department.• Emergency logistics at the time of production slow downs, customer order lead time delay prevention etc outside production houses are outsourced to make the products available to customers at the committed time. Includes physical movement of materials to the outsourced facility and finished product movements back. • Distribution Logistics includes timely movement of finished products to domestic and international customers.
