Open Avenues is a non-profit organization working to educate traditionally underrepresented student populations in the U.S. and inspire careers in STEM, business, and entrepreneurship.As a Global Talent Fellow at Open Avenues Foundation, I develop and lead Molecular Biology projects. These projects help students gain real-world work experience and skills that are valued in the industry.

Research intern at Dr. Anton Wellstein's lab.-To investigate the role of Fibroblast Growth Factor-Binding Protein 1 (FGF BP1) in cancer, we generated FGFBP1 Knockout model to compare the skin pathology of FGFBP1 KO and WT mice-Analysed the expression levels of tight junction and skin barrier function proteins in the epidermis by Immunohistochemistry of tissue sections and measured the layers of keratinocytes to quantify epidermal thickening.-Examined the expression levels of inflammatory genes in dermis, epidermis and skin by qPCR.

IASc-INSA-NASI Summer research fellow at SS Ravi Stem Cell Biology Laboratory, LV Prasad Eye Institute. Worked under the guidance of Dr.Indumathi Mariappan.When there is limbal stem cell deficiency, ex vivo cultured limbal epithelial cells are used for the expansion of limbal epithelial cells. Primary limbal stromal cells have been used as a feeder layer for the ex vivo expansion of limbal epithelial cells. Moreover, limbal stromal cells also provide the native niche for LSCs and help in maintaining their stemness.My work involved isolation and culture of primary limbal stromal cells from cadaveric human donor corneas. hTERT immortalized limbal stromal cell line was characterized by Immunofluorescence staining and RT-PCR.

Worked on Karyotyping of Human chromosomes from peripheral blood and did a case study on Down Syndrome.

Trained in Advanced rDNA technology,Southern & Western Blotting, Primer designing, SDS-PAGE, Data Scoring & Construction of Dendrogram.
