During the On Job Training (OJT) at the subsidiary hotel, I was exposed to the practical aspects of hotel operations. The OJT program included well-structured schedules with meticulous planning and organization in various departments such as Accommodation, Front Office, and Food and Beverage Operations. I had the pleasure of greeting guests and supporting them with their arrival and departure processes at the Front Office department. This included answering phones, taking messages, and routing calls to the right departments. My other tasks included maintaining the organization's cleanliness and hygiene by methodically vacuuming up rooms, passageways, hallways, staircases, and other workspace to ensure they maintained the specified health and hygiene requirements. In addition, I was in charge of refilling food supplies, lavatory equipment, bed linens, and room accessories and making mattresses to assure our visitors' comfort. I was involved in a variety of activities in the Food & Beverage Operations department, including welcoming, greeting, and seating visitors, presenting menu cards, and taking orders.From materials management, guest relations, financing, and sales & marketing, engineering, and security, every aspect of hotel operations was thoroughly covered during the training. The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), a renowned and leading brand in the hospitality industry, provided their expertise through their experienced professionals. Additionally, being part of India's largest globally recognized hotel network allowed for interactive learning and exposure to diverse perspectives.The process of creating exceptional hoteliers requires dedication and attention to detail, which was evident throughout the training program.
