Overall tooling activities of Fuel and Small parts, Sheet metal and Welding, Heat Treatment, Electroplating and Rubber shops for manufacturing of Aero engine components.

• Overall Tool Room related activities including process planning, procurement for raw materials & trouble shooting of various types of Tools viz. Dies, Jigs & Fixtures, Cutting tools, Form tools, Gauges etc. as per customer requirement.• Reading and analyzing charts, blue prints, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determining production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs.• Directing and coordinating daily work, production & repair of dies and other tooling to prevent unnecessary interruption of production operation in Manufacturing Shops.• Oversee and manage the predictive and preventive Tool repair program and tool related spare parts/wear parts program.• Rejection analysis.• Coordinating with vendors and other internal departments concerning tooling and equipment procurement or modification.• Providing assistance, guidance and advice to Junior Tool & Die Makers and Apprentices as required.• Ensure preventative maintenance program are done on tools and dies based on assigned schedules.• Maintaining operations data, such as time, production, and cost records, and prepare management reports of production results.• Estimation of cost of tooling and budget control, preservation and stock control.• Providing regular constructive feedback and communication to subordinates formally and informally on company policies, work procedures and work standards etc. and to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures at all times.

• Determining the scale, complexity of tooling by study of Tool drawings and Component drawings.• Developing Tool master schedule and manufacturing process sheets / technology for manufacturing.• Issue of work order for tool manufacture.• Liaising with Tool Room and Quality Department for timely completion of the tools being manufactured / repaired / reconditioned in Tool Room.• Try out of Tools based on Part Design /Data Supplied by R&D Department.• Ensuring availability of tools for round the clock operations, Implementing Maintenance Techniques to improve tool Quality & reliability.• Assisting shop floor users to get acquainted with application of new tools and measuring instruments. • Ensuring Periodical Calibration, maintenance of special tools like Press tools, Jigs and fixtures, gauges etc.• Ensuring timely completion of repairs, new dies, tooling, fixtures etc. as required so production is not interrupted.• Spares Management, Planning & Maintaining tools used and Shut down Management.• Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.• Liaising with internal departments and suppliers for design input, fabrication and modifications to tools and dies as required.• Troubleshooting of dies & Tool manufacturing problems.• Constructing tools when no previous design is available to troubleshoot and work out problems.
