Machine Learning - Sign Language Recognition:Developed a system to convert sign language from video to text to facilitate communication between the general public and hearing and speaking impaired individuals achieving a 94% word recognition rate with unrestricted grammar.- Implemented a feature extraction algorithm in C++ to perform frequency domain transformation and zonal thresholding for input into the classifier.- Used a Hidden Markov Model toolkit to build and train a model for classification of signed words and sentences.Human Computer Interaction - Eye MouseDesigned and implemented a non-invasive hardware and software solution to allow the control of a computer mouse using electrical signals produced by the eye.- Acquired eye movement low-frequency signals non-invasively using a prototype EOG (electro-oculogram) with hardware filtering.- Implemented an algorithm in C++ & Matlab to train a linear classifier to discriminate between left/right and up/down eye movement.
