Canadian Payroll Experience1. Responsible for completing the ‘Payroll Onboarding Process’.2. Responsible for preparing and processing payrolls for all pay cycles before the cutoff.3. To perform payroll mid-cycle calculations, and calculate vacation & statutory holiday pays as per ESA.4. To calculate final settlement wages, pay in lieu of notice period, severance pay, retiring allowance, process accrued vacation balances, and issue ROE within a stipulated timeframe.5. To integrate payroll software with accounting software using the relevant chart of accounts.6. To calculate and report WSIB premiums as per the premium rate assigned to a specific business class.7. To prepare and file provincial EHT returns with the Ministry of Finance.8. Prepare pay cycle-specific ‘Payroll Schedules’ for fixed-salaried employees as per the current year CPP, EI, QPP, and QPIP rates along with ‘Annual Max-Out’ limits.9. Provide ‘Trust Examiners’ with all necessary documents they need to facilitate the process of ‘Trust Accounts Examination’ in case of Payroll audit.10. To respond to the CRA payroll notices, such as PD4R, PD1114, PD7D, PD7A, PD24, PIER, etc.11. To take appropriate action on the ‘Requirement to Pay’ and ‘Wage Garnishment’ letters.12. Perform year-end payroll reconciliations, analyze payroll accounts on the CRA portal, and ensure CPP and EI thresholds are not over/under-remitted.13. Prepare year-end tax slips, e.g., T4, RL-1, T4A, T5018, T4A-NR, T5, & NR4, and complete the e-filing process.14. To issue T4 slips with Stock Options and other taxable benefits and allowances.15. Prepare the T4 for the trustee or executors for services rendered to the trust or estate as per the WILL.16. To Perform tax planning to analyze the tax impact of giving the T4 or T5 from a corporate and personal income tax perspective.17. Responsible for year-end adjusting entries from the payroll standpoint in accounting software.
