I am a Fulbright Scholar currently pursuing a Masters in Data Science from New York University. Before that, I was a Machine Learning Engineer in the Deep Learning Lab (DLL) at NUST, where I worked on developing an Urdu automatic speech recognition (ASR) system as well as writing data processing pipelines for a media analytics platform. My senior year thesis studied how GANs could be used to produce realistic synthetic time-series data from sparsely available real data and whether that synthetic data could augment real data and be used to train better predictive models downstream. This work was later published in IEEE Access with myself as the first author.Proficient in python, R, SQL, data analysis and statistics. I'm currently exploring how I can best combine my interests in social media and politics with data science and developing more interpretable, human centric ML models.
