As the CTO of the Systems Performance organization, my key responsibility is defining the strategic direction for the Systems Perfomance team, distributed across the globe (US, Canada, Germany, India, China). Focussed on measuring performance, improving and innovating to show differentiation in the target areas of big data, analytics and cloud space. Led the team through a rolling GA of Power hardware in 2014 / 2015. Key products impacted were: Hadoop, IBM’s BigSQL, Spark, DB2 BLU, Watson, power kvm, and Docker technologies.

Responsible for driving innovations in IBM's integrated hardware and software offerings leveraging a solid understanding of database (both oltp and warehousing) workloads combined with a strong background in performance analysis across the software and hardware stacks. My focus has been on the design and development of completely integrated workload-optimized solutions for our clients such as Balanced Configuration Unit, the IBM Smart Analytics System and most recently, IBM PureSystems. I am the technical lead for the Toronto Systems Optimization Competency Center (SOCC), establishing the technical strategy and leading the overall SOCC team driving the collaboration between IBM Systems and Technology Group and IBM Software Group.

I am responsible for the technical design of the IBM Smart Analytics System. The IBM Smart Analytics System is an integrated platform that provides broad analytics capabilities on a powerful warehouse foundation with IBM server and storage. Deeply integrated and optimized, IBM Smart Analytics System provides a single point of support for end-to-end analytics solutions.

Drove DB2 LUW performance and functional enhancements for the data warehousing workloads. Drove industry-standard benchmarks publications on DB2 with IBM hardware as well as other hardware (Sun, HP, SGI, etc.)Represented IBM on the TPC-H / TPC-DS benchmark design committee.

Part of the R&D group. Developed plugin cards that provided digital billing capabilities to old telephone switches.
