Haarjeev Kandhari is the Founder and Chairman of Zenises, the leading tyre company based in London with offices across the globe. He is also the Chairman of Vaculug, Europe’s largest independent retreader and the oldest British manufacturer of retreads. Furthermore Mr Kandhari also heads up Zenises Estates which is a real estate investment trust focussed on commercial real estate. He also works as non-exec Chairman of Walpole Capital – a private equity investor. Previously working within investment banking for Merrill Lynch and in Technology Private Equity, Mr. Kandhari earnt his Bachelors and his Masters in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford. Mr Kandhari also holds a Diploma in Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics and an MBA with Distinction from INSEAD in France. As a fun fact Mr Kandhari holds the Guinness World Record for selling the most expensive tyres in the world in his Z Tyre brand.Mr Kandhari has a focus on corporate and social responsibility, and this has led to the creation of a number of charitable arms to the company; the Z Aspire foundation adopts children in the poorest parts of Asia, particularly around India, and Europe, inspiring and supporting them to enable them to achieve their educational goals. He runs several scholarships at the University of Oxford and also has endowed the Manika and Haarjeev Kandhari Professor of Political Science at Oxford. The Westlake Wishes campaign has an annual goal to feed 125,000 people in a single day in the Indian holy city of Amritsar. A difficult logistical feat, the Zenises Foundation’s Westlake Wishes initiative doesn’t only provide much needed sustenance for those who require it but also draws the issue of global hunger to a wider audience. He also runs the Homes for Hope Foundation which builds homes for those who cannot afford their own homes. He runs the Oneness Education Initiative which recently provided 500,000 text books to needy children in India and also focusses on sending teachers to villages where children do not have access to full time education.
