About Harjit Singh

Harjit Singh is a Just being at Self-employed. He possess expertise in systems engineering, embedded systems, software design, debugging, product development and 23 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Harjit is a very talented individual, very adept at handling novel challenges, at figuring out what needed to be done and making it happen. I was able to manage him in a relatively hands-off way, yet know that he would come back to ask questions at the right time. He works very well as part of a team and does what needs to be done, not just what you ask.", "Harjit is one of the most dedicated, thoughtful, consistent, thorough people I know. He is a good friend and a great engineer who always brings great insight, patience and a "can do" attitude to every project we have worked on and every conversation we have had. He is an excellent engineer, and a fair and kind person. If I were to start my own company, I would find a way to include him.", and "Harjit is an extraordinary engineer and professional. His technical knowledge and passion are rivaled only by his business understanding, drive, and energy. He applies his knowledge and skills to his work and achieves exceeding technological, occupational, and business results. His experience is also a boon to junior engineers because he is always willing to teach, listen, and train--not just in technical issues, but also in the areas of business, product development, and industry. I worked closely with Harjit on the Xbox project and I learned more about practical engineering from Harjit's tutelage than from the whole of my formal technical education."

Responsible for the Electronics, Software, Security and Network protocols for the StarLink satellite based global Internet system. One of the people who started the StarLink program. For above areas, hired the teams that figured out what needed to be done, architecture, trade studies, design, implementation, verification, qualification and prototype system deployment. The prototype system included ground stations, and two satellites - Tintin A and B operated from February 2018 for 2 years.Electronics included definition, design, assembly, test and qualification support of: flight and network computer, power conversion/distribution/management, modems, electric propulsion circuitry, star trackers, magnetometers, reaction wheels, torque rods and printed circuit board layout of phased array antennas.Software included all vehicle and ground software. Vehicle software included secure boot, update, guidance/navigation/control, firmware for all subsystems, test software, data logging, beam pointing, modem control, autonomous flight with safe modes, fault detection isolation and recovery, thermal control, power management, etc. Ground software included vehicle commanding/dashboards/alerts/alarms, antenna scheduling, sharing, pointing, etc.Grew Electrical engineering team from four to 25+; Software/Security/Network team from zero to 25+. NOTE: Significant portions of the prototype satellites were architected, designed, brought up, verified and assembled with less than half of the above teams!Reduced electrical and software development time, radiation test time and costs, simplified sourcing, etc. by driving harmonization of designs/design reuse/elimination of unique components. To leverage and contribute to existing SpaceX code base, shared development methodology with Hawthorne software team.CRS-7 anomaly– performed detailed design analysis of remote engine controller and found latent issue that resulted in an observed erroneous engine shutdown during test.
