As the President of The Grassroots Institute (TGI) in Canada and Ukraine, I provide strategic, administrative, and managerial support to the organization. I am developing innovative education & training, and field-based action programs at TGI. I edit and publish Grassroots Journals and TGI Books in partnership with a few universities. Besides, I am involved with the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP 2026) as Co-Chair, RISG – Central Asia & Mongolia, and member of RISG - Europe, and member of GCG. Professionally, I possess 32 years of experience in research, training, teaching, field action, and organizational management, dealing with multidisciplinary areas of Environment, Natural Resources, Governance, Development, and Indigenous Rights. I have working/study exposure to South Asia, South-East Asia, East Africa, Scandinavia, Europe, Russia & Siberia, and Canada. In my credits are more than 207 publications of varied types. Between 2017 and 2022, I was associated with McGill University's CISDL (Centre for International Sustainable Development Law) as Senior Legal Research Fellow attracting 2019 CISDL Legal Specialist Award. I was Mitacs Elevate Postdoc Fellow at Universite de Montreal, the Commonwealth Fellow, and Social-Impact Fellow.
