As Socrates or some other ancient thinker said, “know thyself.” Apparently, that can mean whatever you want it to, but in this case, I shall use it to tell you the tale of me. Well, at least from a professional standpoint. Professionally, I am a creative and a businesswoman. I created my company, Harlem Lennox, in 2020 during the pandemic. It was born out of the need not to have to wait for permission to do what I wanted to as an artist. To create from my soul, to honor what artistic visions dance around my head. Where new things can be made, not the same old stories regurgitated without any nuance. And just for me but others as well. I had been planning and researching for a while, but the conditions were right during that time of isolation. That is when I produced my first podcast, “Harlem with a View,” which is about living as a creative. Since then, I have also become a certified life coach, started making merch, beauty products, and planning other projects. I love learning and evolving. It is what we are called to do as humans. Creating my path has allowed me to reach for the knowledge I may not have sought out or had access to, and I am all the wiser for it.
