Leading the application development and delivery function for Scania in the UK.Managing a small team of developers in maintaining, upgrading and expanding all of the systems put in place in my previous roles, and providing full project life-cycle support for new development needs across the organisation. Developments mainly web based in .Net, but increasing moving towards mobile in Objective-C and Xamarin.Moving from the previous role where i was the sole development resource for .Net and the Microsoft stack, to effectively running a small software house within Scania. As part of this growth i'm taking the team through DevOps transformation to ensure that we work efficiently and deliver maximum benefit to the business.On the application delivery side, ensuring that we have the required infrastructure to deliver new applications to the business with the required resilience, performance and agility. This includes any applications developed by my team, and also any 3rd party applications that come into the business. Primarily involves architecture and design of our VMware environment and the supporting infrastructure for DR and availability.Also act in more of a consultative/mentoring role for other areas of the department and am called upon for expertise across the many areas I've built up in my previous positions.

Initially part of the operations team providing 3rd line support to around 3000 users, both face-2-face and over the phone.Support covered both hardware and software including desktops, laptops, printers, servers, Windows OS (desktop and server), Office suite and some internal corporate applications.During the 5 years in the role I began to move more towards development and undertook a couple of large projects including developing the companies first intranet from scratch using Microsoft ASP including a supporting content management system, and developing a large suite of management financial reports using Excel and Oracle.During the time in this role I had exposure to a wide range of technologies and hence grew my knowledge across a broad area.
