A former teacher of mine once complimented me on my sunny disposition, telling me that I bring joy to those around me no matter the situation. I never thought much of the impact this trait could have until I fell in love with a career path in mental health. I always thought I wanted to be a nurse, to help heal others, take care of them and offer a smiling face through some dark days - some sunny disposition I suppose you could say. I even started my college education journey in hopes of becoming a nurse, however, I quickly realized that while I did want to help others, I wanted to do it in a different way.So much goes on in one human brain, and my new understanding of how I want to help people led me to study Psychology. Having this insight on how the brain works and how many different things — trauma, childhood experiences, medical diagnoses, stress, etc. — can affect the brain has furthered my passion for helping others. Throughout my life I’ve been fortunate enough to find myself in many situations that allow me to build strong relationships which helped me understand the importance of having a solid support system. My enthusiasm for helping others has carried me through my college education and is significantly influenced by my own personal experiences. My goal is to be able to help guide others, in the healthiest way possible, to where they want to be. I strive to offer my sunny disposition to any one that could benefit from it and to make their world a better place for them to be in.
