I am currently working as a senior pharmacy technician, now completing three years of experience. As part of my duties I transcribe and adjudicate prescriptions, resolving insurance rejections where necessary, fill and package medications, and provide excellent customer service within a retail setting. In addition, as a team member I help maintain inventory, order drug supplies, and upkeep essential records/documentations. My primary objective each day is to ensure that patients receive their medications at the lowest cost possible. I worked as an undergraduate research assistant in biochemistry for two years at Virginia Tech. During that time I honed in techniques involving DNA/RNA isolation/recombination, protein purification, parasite/bacterial culture, and multiple electrophoretic assays. My main project involved development of a platform for profiling novel drug molecules against kinetoplastid parasites.
