Growing up in extremely rural Texas on a large family-owned cattle ranch I quickly learned the value of hard work. I guess you could call my father “old fashioned.” When not in school you could find me building miles of fence line, digging trenches for water pipeline, or picking up rocks in the fields. Oh, and all of this was by hand. It wasn’t until later that I realized there were tools and machines for this sort of thing. It also wasn’t until MUCH later that I realized what my dad was trying to teach me. I am extremely fortunate to have had this experience. I now understand dependability and the significance of getting the job done on time. The morning school bus wasn’t going to wait around for me to get my chores done. My father taught me the importance of record keeping. Deducting feed costs, vet medication, death loss, among other costs all contributes to the bottom line and directly affects the P&L statement. Instead of summer camp I went to leadership conferences where I learned pubic speaking, parliamentary procedure, and listened to motivational speakers. No, I did not have a traditional childhood but that is what has shaped me into the woman I am today. My favorite thing to hear is “here, figure this out.” Give me a problem and I will solve it. I won’t stop until the job is done. You’ll find me observing how peoples minds work, obsessing over new business models, creating data sheets, and craving something new to learn. I educate, refine, and drive myself to be a better person. I stay calm when faced with adversity, and I take genuine pride in what I do and will invest that into your company.
