About Harley Wolfarth

I love building things - not just with wood or metal (though I thoroughly enjoy building with those things too), but with code and commands. I find comfort in numbers and efficiency. With two kids, things are hardly efficient in my house day to day, but I can still find comfort in the little wins, you know? I can run my 3D printer by uploading files to it over the network instead of physically moving a micro SD card around. When I'm working on a project in the garage and need to reference the great knower-of-all, YouTube, I can do so via the Raspberry Pi driven garage computer. When I want to try a new multiplayer game that supports self hosting, I fire up a new VM on my home project server. These are the kinds of things I do for fun. This translates to my work life in that, even with limited resources, if I see a way to make something work better, or a new project comes up that needs interface, metrics, or data analysis, I'm the first one to start working out a solution. This has come in the form of process improvement, interfaces to analyze data pulled from an API or MySQL database and provide visibility of said data, as well as a full featured call queue system to give my team an easier way to maintain customer relationships. When it comes to solving a complex technical problem, I'm not just good at finding a creative solution, I derive satisfaction from the search for, and implementation of it. Whatever else my official title is, or has been in the past, Creative Problem Solver might always be the best fit. My passion is in the tech, but my experience directly interfacing with customers provides me a unique degree of insight. This allows me to plan and implement a product or features that not only works, but you can actually use it. After all, it doesn't matter what it's capable of if the end user can't work out how to use it. Conversely, it doesn't matter how clean and easy the interface is to work with if it doesn't function properly. I'm an expert at finding the solution to addresses both of those issues.
