I fell in love with Software during my mandatory "Introduction to Programming" course at thestart of a Mechanical Engineering degree. I loathed the idea, who would want to program 0's and 1's when you can design cool stuff in the real world? I wanted to create and impact the world positively, and naively I thought this had to be something tangible.After my first "Hello World" program, I began to realise that Software has provided individuals more creative and endless possibilities than at any time in history. I followed this feeling by shortly transitioning to a Computer Science degree.Here I was introduced to the wonders of Data Science and in particular Machine Learning. I thoroughly enjoyed conducting research style projects, my favourite being into Temporal Clustering and Representation Methods of the S&P 500. This lead to the development of a "Pairs Trading" automated trading model, with interesting simulated results. A close second was developing methods to investigate decision boundaries of Support Vector Machines. In November 2018 I had the pleasure to begin employment at Boeing Defence Australia within their Data Analytics capability. Here I conducted a significant refactoring of Boeing Maintenance Workflow Analytics (BMWA), to improve maintainability and enable future growth of the product. This body of work resulted in more customer engagements within the business, and I was awarded a Boeing Wirraway Award along with my teammates as a result. Lately, I am working on a deep-learning model for network optimization and developing a solution where customers can realise this benefit in a production environment. This has been an excellent opportunity, as I have been able to merge my theoretical interests of Machine Learning I curated at University, along with solid Software Engineering and design principles learnt at Boeing. I pride myself on the ability to learn new concepts and applying them to provide business value to stakeholders. But, for the specifics, some of the technologies I have worked with are JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, Bootstrap, jQuery, Require.js, CSS, HTML, SQL, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, .NET Core, .NET Framework, MySQL, Node.js, Express.js, RabbitMQ, Django, Python, AWS, SpringBoot, Java. This list, however, is evergrowing.
