I work within UNC’s mission to translate cutting-edge research and innovation into real-world applications. I identify promising technologies, determine patent landscapes and IP protection pathways, evaluate market potential, and devise strategic pathways for commercialization, including start-up development. I foster collaborations between university researchers, industry partners, and investors, all with the goal of bringing groundbreaking inventions to market. My docket includes technologies in biomedical engineering (devices, engineered protein, drug delivery, organ-on-a-chip), medical imaging (ultrasound, MRI), computer science, and general life science. My duties also include managing and developing departmental interns.

Working to prepare, grow, and mature the MCC from a special-events club to a fiducially responsible organization ready to own, manage, and support a club-owned dedicated curling facility.

Leading MCC in the development and implementation of a dedicated curling facility to further the sport of curling in Missoula and the state of Montana. Duties include business plan and model development, orchestration of strategic partners, volunteer management, grant writing, and vision planning.

Collaborated with fellow board members to set strategic goals and direction for the club while ensuring the club's financial stability and responsible resource management.

Supported the President in various duties. Registered and managed membership for a 200+ person organization. Scheduled, managed, and oversaw league play, playoffs, and bonspiel activity for all registered members and participants.

Studied how Borrelia burgdorferi, the causative agent of Lyme Disease, uses its minimal genetic code and limited metabolic capacity to survive in multiple hosts during its zoonotic lifecycle.

Worked on multiple projects implementing multi-wavelength analytical ultracentrifugation solutions to answer questions relating to membrane proteins and protein-lipid interactions.

My Ph.D. work focused mostly on protein-lipid interactions and membrane-bound proteins. My thesis focused on the biological relevance of a domain-swapped dimer conformation of cytochrome c crystallized by the Bowler lab. I explored the potential of this conformation to be the biological switch for the initiation of intrinsic apoptosis (cell death).During my studies, I was the BioSpectroscopy Core Laboratory Fellow at UM’s Center for Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics for three years. In this role, I gained extensive experience with experimental fluorescence techniques while working with other researchers and projects. I served as the interim manager of the core for a year during a personnel change. As the interim manager, I tracked and educated users, marketed the core, and managed day-to-day core activities.I directly mentored five undergraduates and three first-year graduate students. I cultivate relationships outside of the University, resulting in collaborations and publications.
