Knowing what I want has always been my big problem. How was I supposed to know when there were so many interesting things to choose from. One thing I knew for sure and that was: don't start for myself.When I was about eight years old, I noticed that things were not going well at home. We lived in a nice house in a residential area, but something wasn't right. We never went on vacation and my older brother gave me new clothes. As we moved to smaller houses in town, it became clear that things were getting worse with my dad. Ultimately resulting in his bankruptcy. I didn't want to experience that for myself and a future family.Driven by doubts, I started studying law. Interesting, but not everything. After a few years I moved on to Business Administration. Even more interesting, but what work was I looking for? Like many at the time (80s), automation was a good start if you didn't know it right. That is how I actually automatically rolled into automation.But even after working in IT for a few years, I wasn't sure which industry to start in. What I did like was seeing multiple companies and different corporate cultures. I also turned out to be particularly good at analyzing and subsequently simplifying complex issues. By taking many courses and visiting different companies, I have been able to further develop my skills in asking questions and writing down wishes. Always at the interface between business processes and IT.In the meantime I even dare to call myself a specialist in the field of IT business analysis and I now know that continuing to improve yourself is also a choice.
