Thailand & Netherlands

In 2016, I left the U.S. for the first time and moved across the world to Thailand where I spent a year and a half (in total) teaching English as a second language to kindergarten Thai students between the ages of 3-5 years old. I simultaneously began freelancing online, using my recruitment experience to help people optimize their resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile to improve their job search strategy. Once my teaching contracts finished, I relocated to the Netherlands and became a permanent resident in 2017, and launched my online coaching business, Resume Yogi. *Please note that my online business www.resumeyogi.net is no longer active (for the time being)

Greater San Diego Area

Illumina is a multi-billion-dollar organization that develops, manufactures, and markets integrated systems for the analysis of genetic variation and biological function. As a recruiter and member of the Talent Acquisition team, I successfully recruited 70+ technical and non-technical hires at Illumina within my first year of employment. I was responsible for the full life cycle recruitment process across multiple business units including In Vitro Diagnostics, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, Inside Sales, Customer Solutions, and Marketing. Additionally, I led and organized the TA team's first Quarterly Outreach Event at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego. Greater San Diego Area

After recruiting for a year and a half, I was promoted to a Sales/Account Manager at Aerotek and moved down South to San Diego for this opportunity. As an Account Manager, I managed a territory centered in La Jolla and sold recruitment services to hundreds of startup and corporate biotech companies. Additionally, I was responsible for managing a recruiter, negotiating client contracts, building genuine relationships with my customers, and visiting or treating them to lunch on a weekly basis. I worked with a wonderful team in San Diego and managed the Scientific business unit where we recruited research associates, scientists, laboratory technicians, and several other skill sets for companies who needed to hire scientific talent in San Diego.

Sacramento, California Area

Only days after graduating college, I started my career as a recruiter at Aerotek. I had a fantastic boss who coached and mentored me until I was the top recruiter in the office and landed in the top 5 in the Northwest Region for several consecutive months. I single-handedly recruited over 50 phlebotomists for a massive hiring project in a period of three days and ended up fulfilling 130% of our client's open positions. In short, I killed it as a recruiter! I was awarded “Most Valuable Player” by office peers in May 2013 and I still keep in touch with many of the people I worked with in the Sacramento office to this day.

Blacksburg, Va

I worked for a third-party company helping NASCAR promote itself on college campuses. I was a Brand Ambassador during a four-month internship where I attended several NASCAR races, met famous drivers, and found creative ways to promote NASCAR on the Virginia Tech campus. I planned all types of events, social media promotions, repped NASCAR swag while in class, gave away all types of free prizes, and had a really fun time doing it.
