As a business owner Dr. Barletta has immersed himself into living a full and vibrant life- a life replete with experiences from which he may draw in the creation of the endeavors he takes on. Not a stranger to the community, he has engrossed himself within society . A fresh and welcome face to the city’s medical and wellness community, he brings an exciting energy fused with old-world charm and new world experience from his extensive travels.While many of his peers were finding themselves in their 20s, Dr. Barletta was serving two tours of active duty in the United States Army and as a combat soldier in Iraq. As part of our country’s national defense strategy in response to the tragic events of 911, he was twice deployed to Iraq, where he experienced first-hand the atrocities of war. Even as art imitates life, Dr. Barletta’s life-tapestry is now infused with the threads of an unglamorous reality, a foundation on which he has build character.Following his tours of duty, Dr. Barletta shifted his focus to an area near and dear to his heart; one that he believed would support his life’s mission of adding value to the lives of others- Medicine. He began his medical studies at the University of Guadalajara School of Medicine in Guadalajara, Mexico, later transferring to Georgetown American University School of Medicine graduating with honors. Prior to his transfer, he took a sabbatical whereby he lived in Beijing China working as a medical consultant. During this gap year, he was afforded the opportunity to study the culture, people and language, which adds yet another dimension of threads to his life’s tapestry.Bi-racial, of Italian and Nigerian descent, Dr. Barletta is proficient in both Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and fluent in English as a first language. He spent three years in the entertainment industry as a model and exotic dancer before entering the battlefield and has experience in the field of construction as a journeyman electrician, a craft that has proven beneficial both in his life and in his art. Dr. Barletta is a breath of fresh air because he has dared to journey the road not taken.
