I am a true entrepreneur at heart with a background in homebuilding, land development, land banking, commercial warehousing, and storage facilities. I began my career by building roof trusses and then moved on to selling and factoring them before becoming an owner of Buckeye Truss and Mid-Florida Framing, Inc., one of the State's largest residential and commercial framing businesses. I also formed H.R. Baxter & Sons Enterprises, Inc. as a family business which owned and developed current and former citrus groves into residential communities, with over 20 communities developed under this company. H.R. Baxter & Son’s Enterprises now owns and maintains our commercial warehousing division. I then transitioned into Center Pointe Homes, LLC, a homebuilding company, and Center State Development, a site development construction operation with an additional 23 communities developed under this entity between 2019 and now with lot counts ranging from 100 lots up to 2,000 lots or more. We also have several communities still under engineering design to be developed. Center State Development was the 83rd largest privately held company in the Tampa Bay Business Journal in 2023 and 139th in 2024. I enjoy working in the community and have served on the board of the Community Redevelopment Agency for the City of Eagle Lake, the Polk County Planning Commission, Polk County Development Council, Lake Wales Economic Development Council, and the Lake Wales Presidential Board Chamber of Commerce.
