About Harold Timans
Gepassioneerd bioloog (bachelor in 2022 afgerond) en masterstudent met focus op onderzoek naar Nederlandse vaatplanten en korstmossen. Heb grote passie voor de natuur en het delen hiervan met anderen. Ik heb regelmatig over bijzondere planten mogen vertellen op radio NPO1 bij het programma VroegeVogels en schreef 5 artikels als vrijwilliger en gast voor de Hortus Botanicus Leiden over stadsnatuur op het nieuwsplatform Nature Today. Ik schrijf nu gastbijdrages op hetzelfde platform voor de BLWG (Bryologische & Lichenologische Werkgroep) over bijzonder mos & korstmosflora in Nederland. Ook mocht ik een bijdrage schrijven over de Ronde Zonnedauw (Drosera rontundifolia) in de Flora Batava (2023), een grote heruitgave van de Koninlijke Bibliotheek onder redactie van Norbert Peeters en Esther van Gelder. Verder werk ik als natuurgids voor het excursiebedrijf Dagje In De Natuur. Mijn oprechte enthousiasme geldt als een van mijn sterkste punten. Verder ben ik ondernemend en pak uitdagende projecten aan. Stadsnatuur trekt op dit moment veel mijn aandacht. Ik werk verder als vrijwilliger als plantenvalidator op Waarneming.nl en ben actief als veldgids Flora & Fauna bij Dagjeindenatuur.Mijn Bachelor Biologie deed ik in Leiden en sloot ik af met een onderzoekstage bij Naturalis over urbane biodiversiteit van Korstmossen dat beoordeeld werd met een 8.5. Afgelopen studiejaar heb ik de eerste helft van de Master Biology & Science Communication & Society afgesloten met een onderzoekstage over de conservatie, (historische) verspreiding & ecologie van de ernstig bedreigde Lange Zonnedauw (Drosera anglica) die nog maar op één locatie in Nederland aanwezig is. Deze stage is afgerond met een 7.5. Op dit moment bezig met de Science Communication gedeelte van de master.
