About Harold Bright
Throughout my 20+ year I.T. career I have held many roles within different diverse organizations often focusing on enterprise engineering, documentation, hardware, software, customer service, and network infrastructure engineering. With this, I have also become very familiar with many different modern, IT products, tools, and endpoint management technologies. For the past 10 years my focus has largely been around the modernization of the employee working experience. This includes planning, design, and hands-on implementation of new products, working with businesses to define new computing standards, assisting technologist peers with product operations, and helping businesses transition into more-modern cloud- focused software and platform as a service (SAAS/PAAS) friendly organizations.Through this work I have become proficient with Apple MacOS and IOS products as well as Microsoft Windows workstation and Server products, with close to three years now being largely focused on the development, deployment, and management of modern devices via Azure based Intune, AD, Microsoft Endpoint Management, and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (current branch) technologies.
Listed skills include Hardware, Small Business Server, and Maintenance.

Information Technology Solutions Architect
Supporting employees around the world my end-user technology team and I were responsible for planning, engineering, and implementing a variety of different tools and technologies that help to modernize the end-to-end user experience.2020 – Throughout this year I have continued to define global PC hardware, cellular, and print technology standards, while also co-managing modern products like Azure based Intune & Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (formally SCCM), and developing the framework for a variety of next-generation physical and virtual offerings that entirely leverage Azure based Microsoft Endpoint Management, AD, Microsoft365 to provide an all new hosted virtual desktop as a service (DAAS) computing experiences.2019 – Cree sold their consumer & commercial lighting division. With this I was tasked with working through several different auditing and engineering project teams to help facilitate transfer of the lighting business assets. This work had largely included auditing and defining current and new PC hardware, cellular, and print technology needs, documenting critical products & processes, and providing peer guidance.2017-2018 – This time was spent transitioning the enterprise to Windows 10 and establishing modern Azure based management technology standards for the Cree Wolfspeed enterprise. My four biggest accomplishments included:• Establishing a Microsoft Azure based OMS 'Upgrade Readiness' portals to map out all managed domain hardware and the software being used throughout the enterprise.• Establishing multiple Microsoft Azure hosted Endpoint Configuration Manager (current branch) servers to help fully manage, patch, and service devices throughout the enterprise.• Taking ownership of end-user hardware standards for the Cree enterprise.• Organizing and managing vendor relationships specifically around enterprise hardware, software, managed print, and cell phone device services.
Information Technology Architect / Lead Infrastructure Engineer
Supporting more than 140k employees and 180k+ endpoints in 70 countries, my team was responsible for engineering, documenting, and implementing a variety of modern cross-business end user technology products and services supporting desktop, mobility, email, voice, video, search, directory, and unified collaboration solutions. - In addition, I also worked with several internatioal Deutsche Bank teams to evaluate emerging technologies such as ‘Windows Hello’ authentication, more-seamless wireless authentication technologies, and alternative desktop / mobile hardware devices.2016-2017 – My three biggest accomplishments include replacing the banks older global endpoint management products with 150+ brand new and strategically placed Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (current branch) servers, introducing the Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2016 product to help monitor our thousands of servers all around the world, and installing Microsoft’s System Center Orchestrator 2016 host and run-book servers to help our software packaging engineers automate various parts of their work.2014-2015 – This time was spent testing and implementing many transformational projects in the areas of virtualized desktop, email and unified collaboration. Some of my larger accomplishments included prototyping many different low cost mobile thin-client options that allowed VDI based user’s greater mobility without the need for traditional laptops, testing odd exotic hardware to determine its value within the bank, working with Citrix to plan the enterprise consolidation of older dissimilar VPN tools in favor of a single more modern and universal NetScaler & Storefront product stack, and implementing newer versions of the JAMF Casper product to help the bank better manage and maintain their various MacOS based devices around the world.
Senior Systems Engineer
I worked for a division of Fidelity that collectively managed more than 60,000 PC/MacOS devices that made up Fidelity’s internal customer/employee network. In this role I functioned as a technical problem manager where I leveraged a variety of tools to help monitor the IT enterprise for product and performance issues.2012-2014 – This time was spent as an active advisor to multiple IT engineering and operations teams while also working hands-on to test and introduce products and concepts tied to cloud computing, BYO devices, alternative OS’s (MacOS & Linux), and Office 365. I also worked with different parts of the business to help package, distribute, and patch high-profile products such as Microsoft Office, McAfee Antivirus, 3rd party web browsers like Chrome & Firefox, as well as coming up with ways to audit and release regular updates for different industry common (but critical to maintain) applications, such as .NET, Java, and Flash player. In this role I used device management technologies such as JAMF and Microsoft SCCM device management and desired configuration management technologies to better regulate many of our production supported devices and applications. From a larger support standpoint, I also regularly assisted our Active Directory and Group Policy management teams, Windows OS patching teams, and automated product / operating system distribution teams. Much of this work was spent performing lab tests, helping to replicate odd problems, and reviewing new tools and technologies that might better target and eliminate unique challenges throughout the enterprise. I often also worked to help mentor our regional and call center IT support teams, usually by hosting weekly conference calls that kept them all up to date on what my team was working to solve and, helping to answer any questions or concerns they might have when it came to those problems.
Windows System Administrator 3
Working out of their Seattle Washington corporate headquarters, my team managed computer-based policy and application/operating system distribution to approximately 60,000 Windows based devices spread across more than 2,500 corporate, branch, and retail store locations throughout the United States. In this role, I helped to lead projects to better redesign and update point of sale and customer interface hardware found in all of our US based T-Mobile retail store locations. My team also built new processes that helped automate the migration of more than 30,000 workstations to from Windows XP to Windows 7.I also co-authored a number of technical and operational support manuals that were used to help teach T-Mobile regional and desktop support staff how to better support and troubleshoot complex Windows, Cellular, and MacOS devices.
